Planting Motion
Chen Yu Chen Solo Exhibition
Home is the basic container of life; gallery is the container of artworks. Treasure Hill has been preserved and managed as a historical and cultural community. In the past, the exhibition venues here were all used for residences. I use the site-specific process to respond to the strong atmosphere here. My action is a variable aperture that projects the miniature of Treasure Hill into Cinema Rosso.
When entering a new container, what actions should I use to observe the remaining memories and wavelengths of the past? How to create a tight but also relaxing environment between body and space? What action should be used to break the heavy reality and find the invisible window? Then the dust-laden interior can breathe in synchrony with the outside world and finally becomes a way of motion that turns on the convection. I’m finding the way to make images not only results in spaces, but also some kind of living existences.
